Yoga Therapy (it can be also referred to as Yoga Psychology) is an offering based on the principles of positive psychology, yoga and psychotherapy. It is a healing practice that consist of:
- talk therapy
- emotional and spiritual coaching
- selected relaxation techniques
- personalised yoga sequences
Each session is different and focused around specific needs of our clients.
What Makes Yoga Therapy Different To Other Forms Of Therapy
Working only with the mind (talk therapy) can be limiting. There are emotions and memories that we repressed on mental level but that are still stored within our bodies. We can access those and release through physical movement.
On the other hand, working only with our body (for instance through yoga) means that we don’t get to process our experiences and emotions on a mental level.
Bringing all these ascpects together allows us to move through the process in a holistic way.
How does Yoga Therapy work?
We provide yoga therapy in two settings: group and individual.
Group Yoga Therapy Sessions
Yoga Therapy sessions are created in a way that allows you to work through emotions and patterns that we, as human beings, often repress, leave unhealded and unprocessed. We designed Yoga Therapy sessions to focus on most common patterns, such as:
- Inability to let go of something or someone.
- Healing broken heart.
- Dealing with failure.
- Finding our purpose in life.
- Experiencing identity crisis and finding out who we are.
- Self-esteem & stepping into our power.
- Working with our fear.
Each session consists of an introduction to the topic (webinar), physical yoga practice focused on embodying the messege and releasing old patterns and guided meditation. Each session comes with a task to carry out to further explore and embody these concepts. There is a space for Q&A at the end of each session.
Individual Yoga Therapy Sessions
Individual yoga therapy sessions are confidential in nature and can go much deeper than group meetings. During these sessions we explore the challenges that you’re facing in a non-judgmental and safe space. After the conversation (or during it), we move into physical yoga poses that are energetically linked to the emotional or mental challenges that you’re experiencing. Together we design a sequence that directly responds to your needs. At the end of the session we move into a deeper meditation state or explore different relaxation techniques and methods. We close each session with a discussion and learnings.
